makitori path was exactly what one would imagine as being the first route meant for beginners to travel through. large lush fields, turning brown as the seasons changed, lined the sides of the well traveled path. even the trees littering the landscape were beginning to drop their leaves, leaving the entire area washed in the somber colors of autumn.
vera had stopped to consult her map briefly, taking note at how close to toppu village was to kaishi town. had she chosen to walk straight through it would only take her an hour or so to reach the next destination. that wasn't her goal, however.
on her hip lay the pokeball containing her new pokemon, tepig. she had recently received him from the lab and was anxious to try her new companion out. vera's hand lay protectively over the pokeball that was clipped to her belt as her large blue eyes scanned the landscape in hopes of finding her first opponent.
a wave of anxiety would occasionally threaten to engulf the woman but she quickly swallowed it. this was what she had always wanted, after all. to be here doing it in the flesh seemed surreal.
