» TAGGED, RABDOM» WORD COUNT, 349 Jason felt more excited than he should have been; at least, that was what he felt. Most might have felt terrified, leaving their home for an adventurous lifestyle that was likely to get you hurt -- or worse. It wasn't as if he didn't know what he was getting himself in to; his father had come home more than once with a broken leg or arm, and had told stories of his youth, when he had been more adventurous and willing to put himself at risk to save Pokemon and humans alike.
That was probably the whole reason why he had wanted to become a Ranger in the first place; because of all the stories that his father told him where he actually helped someone, where he actually did something. His father was something of his hero, and it was common knowledge among the family that Jason wanted to follow in his footsteps; if spending majority of his time outside since he could walk was any indication.
The large Bravery swooped low to the immense tree tops below, cawing and alerting Jason to the fact that they were close to base. The Head Ranger had a pretty tamed Bravery, he had to admit; it didn't so much as attend to divert off course from the Ranger base in Unova, to the one in Kinji, and flew pretty smoothly all the way there.
The large bird glided down to a clearing near the base built into the trees; lowering itself down and folding its wings so Jason could easily slide off. Jason thanked the bird with a pat on the head, and like that, the Braivery was off; over the tree tops with a resounding cry. Jason sighed before turning to Ranger HQ, trying to calm himself as he climbed the round staircase up into the main deck of the base.
"Hello?" he called as he hesitantly entered the seemingly doorless entrance 'hall'. He had to admit, this place did have a calming affect on him, being so close with nature. He could almost swear he heard a Pokemon's calls nearby... MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Sure enough, sounds of a Pokemon hoping and croaking about could easily be heard. It wasn't like it was trying to hide itself; it was only trying to have a little fun, after all. A little bouncing and clowning around never really hurt anyone, right? It might nit have hurt them physically, but when you're in an area in which noise seems to echo and you have wooden bridges that clattered when you walked on them, much less jump on them, then you kind of had a problem.
"Hey! Politoed, c'mon!"
"Politoed!"
The voices came from the door just beyond the mahogany desk. The door seemed firm, but as the noises grew closer, it seemed to shake in time with the movement of the bouncing. Quite suddenly, a large object -- a medium-sized Pokemon, in all reality -- came bounding through the door. It went to leap over the desk, however the Pokemon didn't jump high enough; it's foot catching on the desk and sending it crashing to the floor in front of the desk with a groan. The water type was obviously hindered, and didn't seem to be moving anytime soon.
Just as the door was about to close, a woman came crashing in as well, an Infernape. She gave the young man a rather odd look, before blinking and leaning over the desk.
"Oh!" she said, jumping slightly. "Politoed, you clumsy Pokemon! This is why you shouldn't run around the base all rampant! Well, that, and you disturb the wildlife by jumping on the bridges. But still!" The woman grabbed a Pokeball off of her belt, recalling the Pokemon to it easily. She gave a sigh. "Sorry about that!" she apologized, turning back to the other person before her. "He tends to get away sometimes! Now -- what did you need help with? Another rampaging Pokemon?"

» TAGGED, RABDOM » WORD COUNT, 178 Jason nearly had a heart attack as something came barreling through the door behind the desk, only to practically shake the floor as it hit it with an astounding force. Jason had to jump back with a startled yelp as this happened, staring wide eyed for a moment as he tried to take in everything before him. It didn't help too much that not seconds later, the door burst open; this time bearing a woman and an Infernape. Well it was at least nice to know that this Pokemon was not just a wild Pokemon roaming around causing havoc. Then again, it didn't help that he could still hear his heartbeat in his ears.
He could only assume by her attire and Pokemon that she probably worked here. And she seemed friendly enough. Maybe she could help him with tracking down the Head Ranger so he could get his stater?
"Oh, I - uhm, my name is Jason," he introduced. "Jason Acheson. I was supposed to get my starter today and get all set up to start working here." MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

"Here to get a -? Oh!" the woman seemed to jump as she remembered something. She quickly put Politoed's Pokeball back on her belt before she continued. "You must be Jason, then! A colleague of mine called in the other day, told me he had a new recruit by the name of Jason and asked me to send out my Braivery to give him a life over."
"Infernape!"
"It's a pleasure meeting you, then," said the woman. "I'm Astral, head of the Rangers here in Kinji, and you'll be working under me from here on out! Hey, Inernape, buddy, think you can go get his stater choices and items for me?"
"Nape? Infernape!" the dual type Pokemon nodded, and quickly disappeared through the doorway they had come in.
"Job's won't be too hard," Astral went on. "I'll make sure to give you easy to handle jobs until you show you're ready to take it up a notch. The Pokemon I got for you, I picked out trying to think of what Pokemon might suit you best. If you want -- I just got a new shipment of the starter Pokemon you can find in other regions if you'd rather have one of those."
Infernape returned shortly, carrying a backpack, as well as a smaller bag with some small, spherical objects in it. "Infernape!" said the dual type, handing over the items.
"Thanks!" spoke Astral, before setting the backpack down and emptying the other bag of it's contents into her hand -- which turned out to be five Pokeballs. "Feel free to take your time, and let me know what you've chosen." Five red lights burst from the Pokeballs, and revealed five different Pokemon.

» TAGGED, RABDOM » WORD COUNT, 396 Head Ranger? Oh. He had heard that she was a little spacey sometimes (the reason why his trainer had to call ahead of time to make sure she'd be there when he showed up), but he didn't think she'd be that forgetful. He had came on time -- especially with the help of Braivery -- and yet he still had to wait. At least she was nice, though; explaining all of the things they;d be doing while he got adjusted to the Kinji region.
It felt odd being so far away from home. Granted, he had done so traveling Kalos, and again when training for the past two years to get to Kinji and become a Ranger. But with Kalos, he at least had his brother; and when training, he was so focused on getting here, and getting to write letters and call home frequently (mostly due to him being a minor and all), but now things were starting to settle in more and more. He hoped his brother would wrap up whatever it was he was supposed to be doing so he could meet him in Kinji.
The Infernape returned shortly after Astral finished explaining everything, and the woman took five Pokeballs from a bag the Infernape handed her. While, again, he shouldn't have been excited as he was; this was only his second time receiving a starter, the first being in Kalos. The people that trained him allowed him to use his own Pokemon, as well as some of theirs, while he learned the basics, However, he was told he wouldn't be bringing his Pokemon over to Kinji with him -- not yet, at least. He assumed it was to better adjust himself here while he worked. He supposed he didn't mind.
A few of the Pokemon released, he wasn't too sure he knew the name of. Shelmet was easy to spot, being a native of Kalos and all. He had encountered Helioptle back in Kalos, though he couldn't say he was very fond of it. His father owned a Magcargo, and his sister had a Slugma she used for contests. The other two, he wasn't so sure of. It took some thinking before he actually made his descion.
"You wouldn't happen to have a Froakie by chance, would you?" Jason asked Astral, almost nervously. "If so, I wouldn't mind that and the Shelmet. Uhm, please?" MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

"I thought I'd made at least one right choice!" said Astral with a grin.
The woman recalled the Pokemon to their Pokeballs; handing four off to her Infernape to put away while she handed the other one -- presumably Shelmet -- to Jason. Reaching under the desk, clicking and shuffling could be heard, before she came up with another Pokeball and the bag she had set on the ground earlier.
"Everything you need to start off should be in that bag there," Astral explained. "New clothes and some other odd equipment can be found in your room -- which shouldn't be too hard to find, considering there aren't many of us that work here yet. I should already be registered on your PokeNav, so if you ever need me, feel free to call."
"Infernape!"
