Leo stands at 5'6 but often appears a bit shorter due to his bad posture. He has always quite thin, so much so that people started to question if he was anorexic. Although Leo's not that athletic, his body is still somewhat toned. However, his skin is still more on the pale side.

With dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, he considers his physical appearance boring and found it easy to be unnoticed by everyone around him. Leo's hair falls past his ears and slightly curls in when it reaches his neck; he doesn't style it because he prefers having a 'messy' style.

No matter the time, season, or occasion, Leo can always be seen wearing dark and muted colors. One could describe his style of clothing as 'emo' because he wears a lot of black, but Leo hates the term 'emo'. Growing up in a large and urban city, Leo wears a lot of street style clothing. Things like oversized sweaters, hoodies, jeans, boots, etc, are all things he wears on a day to day basis no matter the weather. His favorite thing to wear is a dark brown bomber jacket with a faux fur collar along with a black shirt with a small skull in the middle. 

When it comes to accessories, Leo doesn't wear that many. He may wear one or two silver rings if he wants to but he rarely does. He has a black backpack with silver accents on it. He attached a few keychains that he collected in Castelia like a Castelliacone and a small insect badge from a gift shop.

Leo has always been very anti-social and socially awkward. Although he's not that shy, he is quiet. This is mostly because he has trouble relating to people and coming up with things to talk about. If someone were to approach him and start a conversation, Leo's first instinct is to subtly run away or make up an excuse that he has to leave. But, if he has no way of escaping from the conversation, his answers are short and to the point. Because of this, most people tend to find him boring to talk to. This is because Leo is obsessed with what other people think of him. So, he doesn't talk that much because he doesn't want to come off as insensitive or annoying because he talks too much which makes him seem closed off.

When it comes to doing something, whether it be battling, going somewhere, getting something, etc, Leo won't do anything more or anything less. Unless the task is really important to him, don't expect him to go above and beyond. Leo has a lot of self-doubt; he questions a lot of his decisions and settles for less than he deserves. If something isn't going his way, he'll likely become very negative and give up. 

If someone were to put up with awkward conversations and really wanted to become friends with Leo, they would see that he is actually a kind and loyal person. He has strong morals and believes that everyone should be treated with respect. Because of this, he is easy to manipulate and take advantage of because he trusts everyone he's close to.

Leo was born in the sprawling metropolis, Castelia City located in south central Unova. His mother worked at Casteliacone, the extremely popular ice cream stand and his father skippered ferries at Thumb Pier. His parents were very wealthy so growing up his family didn't have any problems with money. The two had met at Casteliacone when Leo's mother was working. His parents weren't pokemon trainers but his mother had a Purrloin she found in an alleyway on her way to work. 

From a young age, Leo never had an interest in becoming a trainer but still had an interest in pokemon. He had spent a lot of his time with the Purrloin and a babysitter because his parents were always busy with work. Since the age of five, Leo had various tutors to teach him things instead of going to school. He found what he was learning very easy and quickly surpassed other kids his age. Because he didn't go to school, his only friend that was his age was his neighbor who he rarely got to see; his main friends were his tutors and the Purrloin.

As time went on, Leo slowly started to realize that he wanted to get out of Castelia and explore more of Unova but he was still unsure of how he was going to do it. The only way he could do this was if he became a trainer which he didn't want to do. One day while he was sitting next to the window with his Purrloin, he saw a group of people wearing knight-esque outfits talking to people on the street. Leo had no clue who these strange people were.

When Leo turned ten he told his parents that he wanted to become a pokemon trainer, both were puzzled because before this he showed no interest in becoming one. Leo had thought about it and he figured it was the only way to explore Unova. At the time Team Plasma was well-known around Castelia for stealing pokemon and were considered to be very dangerous. Because of Team Plasma and how dangerous they were, Leo's parents denied his request to become a pokemon trainer and told him to wait till he was older.

At the age of sixteen, Team Plasma had still not left Unova. So, Leo's hopes of exploring Unova were becoming smaller and smaller. Until one day, one of Leo's tutors were telling him about pokemon watcher and how they researched pokemon's behavior and interactions. All of Leo's hopes of exploring Unova were brought back to life. When he asked his parents if he could become a pokemon watcher, they still denied it. However, because he was a lot older and capable of taking care of himself they offered him the opportunity to explore a different region that was safer. It turned out that there was a cruise leaving from Castelia to the Kinji region in a few days. Taking the opportunity, Leo packed his bags, said goodbye to his family, and hopped on the cruise to become a pokemon watcher in the Kinji region.

Leo handed the lady his boarding ticket, his anxiety being hidden by a small smile. He walked up the path connecting the cruise to the pier, he looked back and waved at his mother who was sitting on one of the benches. What the-, Leo was pushed on to the boat by a man behind him. The man was a lot taller than Leo, he wore all black and had a couple of piercings on his face. Afraid of what might happen to him if he argued with the man, Leo continued walking into the boat.

The entrance of the ship was a long hallway that branched out into more hallways. The walls of the boat were all white; a few paintings of water type pokemon were scattered along the walls. The hallway led to a large room filled with people and pokemon. To the left of Leo was an exit to the main deck and to his right was three long lines of people that were trying to get their room keys. His anxiety still through the roof, he decided he wasn't ready to talk with a stranger so he headed towards the main deck.

As soon as he stepped through the door, a large gust of fresh ocean air smacked him in the face. With his hair flying everywhere he continued towards the main deck. He slid his hand along the metal railing as he continued walking.
