Melinda is a very shy person and doesn't tend to want to talk to others very often unless she knows them. She's very attached to her family and will go out of her way to protect them, going to extrordenatory lengths to ensure their happiness and safety, even if it puts her own safety or happiness at risk. Melinda thinks she is absolutely wonderful to the point of being rather vain, she thinks she's perfectly beautiful, and no one can tell her otherwise. Should they try well... let's just say she'll be less than pleased and they will know of these feelings.


Strong willed and somewhat power driven, this young woman is the type of person to set her mind to something and accomplish it no matter what she has to go through or what she has to do to accomplish her chosen goal. Kai's feelings toward Pokemon are very obvious as hse loves them, every single one no matter how creepy, ugly or intimidating they might be to others; she loves every one of them: Accompanying this love is a hatred for those who mistreat her Pokemon or any others, they are scum, worthless then the most worthless of jerky people and Kai will absolutely not stand for mistreatment of Pokemon by anyone she might see doing it.


Due to Linda's rather rich and spoiled upbringing, she has something of an entitlement issue where she believes everything she should get whatever she wants when she wants it, though unlike many others with this problem she's willing to work for what she does want most of all. When it comes to fears, Melinda's main fear is a rather simple one; she fears to lose her family and friends, the few people she has in her life.

Melinda was born in Saffron City to Angelica and Terra Gleeful. Melinda wasn't the only child born to her family by any means and was in fact, the second born; the first an older brother. The two were very close to one another growing up and did everything together, even going to the same school despite a small age gap. The family was rich and as such Linda and her brother attended Kanto's most prestigious private schools, though the school wasn't entirely something Melinda had much trouble with, nor something she took all that much interest in.

School for Melinda was fairly easy as, though she did attend school her parents also ensured she had tutors to help in any subjects she struggled in: Making friends was no problem for the girl as, though rather shy she had managed to find one or two good friends to stick by her side before she had reached the end of first grade. It helped at times that her brother was there to help her make new friends, to help her with the stuff when the student tutor wasn't of any use because there were those few times. The school studies of Pokemon her classes did almost every year here an utter delight to Linda and it was through them that she discovered. Her absolute adoration for Pokemon and her desire to go on her Pokemon journey one day. However, it wasn't yet in the cards for Melinda as, while her brother was allowed to go on his own journey, she was not. He was the family heir, after all, he needed more worry experience then Melinda did and so, at Ten her brother left for his adventure and Melinda remained behind.

Linda's life continued on as normal, school, a few after school activities and clubs and whatnot and of course, hanging out with friends. During the next two years Kai' would decide she wanted to adventure still, despite what her parents said and it didn't help that her brother kept returning home with his growing stock of Pokemon. Decision made and a deal struck wth her parents, Melinda would get an after school course load from college which she would work on during spare high school periods, or after school such as night classes and online courses. This was enough to allow her to graduate at least high school at sixteen, she had worked so hard when she had been ten that she had been able to skip two entire grades. High school completed and a year of college under her belt Melinda was finally given permission to take off on her own journey though, for her, it didn't need to be in Kanto, couldn't be in Kanto! So she moved to a new region entirley.

Melinda was brimming with excitement at finally being able to go on her own Pokemon journey. She stepped off the boat and looked around at the birds flying by. She smiled, and walked toward the Pokemon lab, the sea breeze gently blowing her fancy hat. Melinda looked back at her two partners, a Swirlix and a Spritzee. The Spritzee floated beside her, while the Swirlix just rested on her shoulder.



Melinda took a deep breath and walked to the Pokemon lab. She knocked on the door, Unsure of what would happen going forward. She was filled with dread but at the same time excitement. This was her story about to unfold. Nobody else's. Mason and Mabel started acting up, jumping around their trainer as she waited for the door to open. The girl facepalmed at their antics, wondering what sort of trouble they will stir up inside the lab.
